2023 Pink Night to Remember Planned for March 31st

2023 Pink Night to Remember Planned for March 31st

This year’s A Pink Night to Remember will take place on Friday, March 31, 2023 once again at the Waterview in Monroe.  This premier event offers an evening to celebrate our organization’s mission in bringing a community together in the fight against breast cancer. With the exception of our 2022 event, historically, this event has been held on a Friday evening in March, and we are back to our regular schedule for this event in 2023!  We hope you can join us for an important night out. This year’s event will be from 6 PM to 10 PM and offer complimentary cocktails, cold and hot hors d’oeuvres and stations, raffles, door prizes and a silent auction.  Upon arriving you’ll check in to the right or left of lobby depending upon your last name, and receive your Door Prize ticket, and signature sparkling glass of pink before heading to your designated table.  We take over the entirety of The Waterview with over 500 guests expected to attend, including additional space downstairs for mingling including a beer garden, photo booth and additional food selections. Sponsorships are available through January 31st. Businesses can sponsor this special evening with packages ranging from $500 to $5,000. The sponsorship package can be downloaded from our event page or from our Forms page. More information about this event is located on our 2023 A Pink Night to Remember page which is accessible here, or through the top menu bar under Events. A few photos from our 2022 event are shown below to give you a feel for the spirit of our annual A Pink Night to...

11th Annual Pounding the Pavement for Pink Race Director’s Message

11th Annual Pounding the Pavement for Pink Race Director’s Message

It rained…volunteers showed up to work at 5 am… It rained …all our sponsors/vendors arrived to set up. It rained …Adam Rivers from iHeart, the voice of our 5K, arrived. It rained …runners, walkers and spectators assembled. It rained…the honor guard marched to the start line. It rained…Shay Marie Neary sang the National Anthem so beautifully her voice reaching the heavens…and then it STOPPED raining!!! Although the weather forecast told a different story all the way through 1 o’clock in the afternoon, with the start of the race came a stoppage of the rain, as if our loved ones who had fought the fight spread their wings and formed a canopy over us. The strength, fight and determination our breast cancer survivors embody, challenges all of us to do the same in the FIGHT… to NOT QUIT!! On Saturday, October 1, 2022, NO ONE quit! For many, the choice to stay home, because of the rain, was a difficult one to make. I truly believe that everybody wanted to be there, but for some, it wasn’t the right choice this year. For those that couldn’t make it, we still felt your spirit with us. In the end we will all struggle to find the words to describe our experience yesterday. Even collectively, we can’t put it into words. As one breast cancer survivor said to me “you have to be here, to feel it”! To each and every one of you that made the journey yesterday to be with us in person, volunteers, breast cancer survivors, vendors sponsors, runners, walkers, THANK YOU! YOU brought SUNSHINE to a day weather...

Seymour Pink Funds The Bella Blankets Program at Griffin Hospital

Seymour Pink Funds The Bella Blankets Program at Griffin Hospital

On September 7th, board members from Seymour Pink presented leaders at The Hewitt Center for Breast Wellness at Griffin Hospital with additional funding for the Bella Blanket program. Seymour Pink presented funds, the third time this year, dedicated solely towards the purchase of Bella Blankets for the comfort of patients receiving their mammograms. Bella Blankets® protective coverlets for mammography can help capture more breast tissue. Cancers that occur at the chest wall may not be visualized if breast tissue is missing from the image. Every millimeter counts™ when looking for clusters of micro-calcifications. Seymour Pink heard about the Bella Blankets being used at Griffin Hospital during breast screenings and the comfort and benefit they provide to patients.  The blankets were described as providing invaluable comfort and making an uncomfortable but necessary procedure much more comfortable.  For us at Seymour Pink, it was a perfect fit with our mission. Bella Blankets allow the patient to relax and have a better level of comfort, both physically and mentally during their mammograms, acting as a barrier against the cold and hard machine, while also allowing the best images possible to be captured.  It’s a win win for patients and medical providers alike. Griffin Hospital has honored Seymour Pink with a special plaque found at the Center About Bella Blankets Bella Blankets protective coverlets act as a barrier between the patient’s skin and the receptor plate to help prevent breast from sticking or tearing as the patient steps out of compression. Less skin tears, less patients avoiding annual mammograms, better for overall breast health. About The Hewitt Center The Hewitt Center for Breast...
